Holly & Nathaniel's Country Club of Missouri Wedding

This wedding was off-the-charts wonderful. Holly and Nathaniel are the best couple - they are stunning, stylish, personable, and so, so happy together. Holly made a stunning bride: she's so classic and Audrey Hepburn-esque, and her elegant gown could not have been more perfect. The combination of soft pink and ivory flowers combined elegantly with the navy, floor length J. Crew dresses, and Nathaniel paired his tailored suit with some great pink and navy polka dot socks. She and Nathaniel were married in Columbia, MO at the Missouri United Methodist Church, with their reception at the Country Club of Missouri. The Country Club of Missouri was the perfect place to be for golden hour. I love the rolling hills, and the light passing through the huge trees. From exiting the church amid cheers and tossed silver confetti to Nathaniel's wildly impressive dance moves, it was such a joyful and happy day. Congratulations, Holly and Nathaniel!

Jordan & Andrew's Ritz Carlton Wedding

Could this couple be anymore classically elegant and lovely? Jordan and Andrew were married on August 8 at Memorial Presbyterian Church with a reception at the Ritz Carlton. These two make such a sweet couple. Whenever these two looked at each other, their faces lit up with joy. Jordan was a gorgeous bride in an absolutely stunning Anne Barge gown with a structured bodice and lace detailing. The blush colored bridesmaid dresses paired perfectly with the flowers by Artistry Florist. Add in a vintage Rolls Royce, the beautiful Ritz Carlton, and all of Jordan and Andrew's delighted family and friends, and you have one amazing wedding day! Jordan and Andrew, congratulations!

Italy

This year, we celebrated five years of marriage by heading back to the place our story began. We first met in a photography class in Florence, Italy. It was (and is) the only photography class that either of us have ever taken. It is amazing (and a bit terrifying) to look back at the decision to study abroad in Italy, knowing how immeasurably different each of our lives would be. I certainly wouldn't live in St. Louis, I likely wouldn't be a photographer, and I never would have met my wife. All of that to say, Italy is an important place for us, and it was phenomenal to travel back. We started out our trip in Lake Como, where we stayed in a stunning bed and breakfast high up on the mountainside. We paid for the panoramic views with an exhausting climb, but it was worth it! We loved the narrow winding paths and tranquil harbors of the small Lake Como towns. We walked the canal ways of Venice, where we snacked on cicchetti while sipping Veneto wine. To escape the throngs of tourists, we fought against our yawns to explore an empty Piazza San Marco in the early morning light. Next, we headed south to Orvieto, an Umbrian town set atop a volcanic bluff. We loved Orvieto - we met some delightful people (including Federico the shoemaker pictured below, who married a girl from Ohio!), ate amazing food (fresh truffles!), and enjoyed every inch of the small city. It didn't hurt that our B&B required a short walk through an olive grove. From there, we ventured to Florence, our former home. We walked the same stunning streets and saw a few familiar faces. We at the best pizza in the world (Gusta Pizza in Santo Spirito - get the one with Calabrese salami!). We also saw a "Carretto da Lavoro" which is a Sicilian work cart and it's where my last name comes from. At the tail end of our trip, we headed to Genova. I can't tell you how many Italians looked at us questioningly when we said we were going to Genova - "No, no," they would say, "Genova is a working city! I have a wonderful idea for you instead - go to Cinque Terre." Cinque Terre is beautiful, absolutely, but we had an amazing time in Genova. We spent some time on the water, sailing up to Portofino and Santa Margherita. Here are some of our favorite photos from this fantastic trip.

Rosie & Mike's Neo on Locust 4th of July Wedding

This July 4th wedding was incredible! Rosie and Mike were married at Our Lady of Lourdes on July 4th, with a reception at Neo on Locust. The two make an absolutely stunning couple, and their day was full of lovely little touches. From the lavender accents on the invitations to the gorgeous illusion back of Rosie's dress, this wedding day glowed from Rosie's elegant, softly romantic style. One of my favorite parts of the day was standing on the rooftop of Neo, looking out over miles and miles of Missouri and Illinois as fireworks shot into the sky. From the grand fireworks in Forest Park to tiny backyard fireworks off in the countryside, the sky practically glittered. It was the perfect way to close out a Fourth of July wedding. May every anniversary be just as full of celebration and joy as their wedding!
